What is a flyer and what is the purpose of a flyer?
A flyer is a cost-effective way of spreading a message, sharing brand information, or grabbing attention for a cause. Start with professionally designed templates for any business or idea, so you can start inspired and really make it your own.
Whatâs the best size for a flyer?
The best flyer size is normally around 8.5 x 11 inches in the US, which is very similar to A4 paper size (21 Ă 29.7 cm) for the rest of the world. Smaller sizes are also quite popular, specifically the A5 paper size (14.8 Ă 21 cm).
Where can I post my flyers? Can I put them in letterboxes?
The size of your flyer really depends on the amount of information you need to include and the method of distribution. If youâll be posting your flyers on walls and/or want to include lots of words and images, youâll want to go for the larger A4 size. If youâll be handing out or mailing these flyers, then the handier A5 size might be the best option for you.
Generally speaking, you can post your flyers almost anywhere on public property. Think telephone poles, noticeboards, places where you normally see posters or flyers. However, in most cases, you are not allowed to tape anything to private property and although you can deliver flyers, unless the owner has made it clear they do not want them.
What should I put on a flyer?
Itâs up to you, but keep in mind the aim of sharing information or grabbing attention. Whatever you decide, remember the following design rules:

⢠Use fonts that are 10pt or bigger to make sure they can be read.
⢠Try to use big fonts for headlines and bullet points to list the key messages. Itâs far easier to read this way.
To make sustainable choices easy for our creative community, weâre planting a tree for every print order placed. These mangrove and forest tree species will take root at restoration sites across Kenya, Mozambique, Madagascar, and Haiti.
⢠If youâre uploading your photos and images (JPEG or PNG files), please make sure that they are no less than 96 dpi with 300 dpi being the ideal resolution for print.
For mangroves, we will be planting native species of Rhizhopora, Ceriops, and Bruguiera. For forest species, we are looking at Afromontane species.
Each mangrove tree will sequester 3.4 kg (7.4 lbs) per year or 84 kg (185.2 lbs) over 25 years. The Afromontane species vary, depending on size.
